Equitable Partnerships & Benefit-Sharing
Listening to what communities want—whether that’s protecting knowledge independently, exploring partnership possibilities, or accessing new opportunities and when communities choose to engage external partners, supporting them to negotiate fair terms, ensure informed consent, and establish benefit-sharing arrangements that serve community goals.
Our Mission& Vision
Mission:
Empowering communities to document their knowledge, train the next generation, and participate equitably in climate action and sustainable development.
Vision:
Communities leading climate resilience where local knowledge strengthens global solutions, youth build careers as knowledge stewards, and partnerships create value for all.
OUR IMPACT
Communities worldwide steward critical ecosystems and hold valuable knowledge for climate adaptation, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable development. ICRI Global creates pathways to unlock this potential, building capacity where communities lead, youth gain meaningful careers, and partnerships deliver mutual benefits.
What We Do

Turning Community Priorities Into Action
Working with communities to identify what matters most, whether safeguarding knowledge, creating youth opportunities, building partnerships, or accessing resources and taking practical steps together to make it happen, at a pace that makes sense locally.

Community-Led Knowledge Systems
Supporting communities to strengthen intergenerational knowledge transfer and document ecological expertise for their own use in decision-making, youth training, resource management, using systems they control, with full authority over if and how knowledge is shared externally.

Youth Capacity & Technology Transfer
Training youth as environmental data professionals, putting together elder knowledge with modern tools to create local employment and community monitoring capacity, and building skills for whatever pathways communities choose to pursue.
